DSC Not Working?

Before you buy a replacement, read this

The single most common thing that happens when a DSC stops working is that someone sells the owner a new one. In most of the cases that reach us, the certificate was never the problem — it was a driver, a USB port, a browser setting, or a helper application that was not running.

So the honest advice, even though we sell certificates: rule out the free fixes first. Work through the checks for whatever you selected above. If none of them work, send us the error and we will look at it without charging you, because we would rather tell you it is a five-minute fix than take money for a certificate you did not need.

There are two situations where a new certificate genuinely is the answer: it has expired, or it was issued in the wrong name for what you are trying to do. Both are worth confirming rather than assuming.

The one thing to stop doing right now

Similarly, do not disable your antivirus because a guide told you to, and do not install a driver from a link on a random website. A token holds your legal signature. Get drivers from the token vendor or the certifying authority that issued your certificate, and nowhere else.
